Before making an insurance claim make sure you have:

  • Your insurance policy numbers and contact information
  • Police reports
  • Photos
  • The location of the incident
  • All correspondence related to your claim
  • Receipts and invoices for lost or damaged items

If you need to make a claim, contact your insurance company and broker as soon as possible. Most insurance companies do have a claims submission time limit that ranges from 90 days to 12 months from the date of the loss or event.
